RC Strasbourg

Racing was founded in 1906 as FC Neudorf, in a suburb of what was then German Strasbourg, and took the Racing Club de Strasbourg name after Alsace returned to France at the end of the First World War; it turned professional in 1933. It is one of only twelve clubs to have won all three major French trophies, taking the championship in 1979, the Coupe de France in 1951, 1966 and 2001, and the League Cup in 1964, 1997, 2005 and 2019. After financial liquidation in 2011 the club was refounded in the fifth tier as RC Strasbourg Alsace and climbed back to Ligue 1 by 2017; it has played at the Stade de la Meinau since 1914.
