Manchester City

The club was founded in 1880 as St Mark's (West Gorton), a church side set up to address gang violence and drink in east Manchester; it became Ardwick AFC in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894. City left Maine Road for the City of Manchester Stadium in 2003, and after an Abu Dhabi takeover in 2008 dominated English football, winning the Champions League and a treble in 2023.
