CFR 1907 Cluj

CFR Cluj was founded in 1907 as Kolozsvari Vasutas Sport Club, the railway workers' club of a city then in Austria-Hungary, and its name is an acronym of Caile Ferate Romane, the Romanian railways. It spent most of its history in the lower divisions before promotion in 2004, then won its first championship in 2008 and five in a row between 2018 and 2022, eight in all. It contests the Cluj derby with Universitatea Cluj.
