Founded1948
Founded in 1948 by Romania's Ministry of Internal Affairs and admitted straight into the first division, Dinamo was for decades the club of the interior ministry and the security services. It has won eighteen national championships and thirteen Romanian Cups, and in 1983-84 became the first Romanian club to reach a European Cup semi-final, repeating the feat in the Cup Winners' Cup in 1989-90. Its matches against FCSB are known as the Eternal Derby.
