Foggia

Sporting Club Foggia was created on 5 July 1920 by merging the Maciste club with US Pro Foggia and US Atleta, and first played in February 1922. Its best periods were the 1960s and 1970s and then the early 1990s, when Zdenek Zeman's fast attacking side, nicknamed Zemanlandia, spent four consecutive seasons in Serie A. The club has gone through repeated insolvencies, becoming Foggia Calcio after a bankruptcy in 1984, restarting again in the 2000s, and in 2019 passing its sporting tradition to a new company, Calcio Foggia 1920, admitted to Serie D, so the present club is a legal successor rather than the original.
