Chesterfield

Chesterfield FC dates from 1867 and is among the oldest clubs in England, though the present club is a third incarnation formed in 1891 and known for a time as Chesterfield Town. Nicknamed the Spireites after the town's crooked church spire, it joined the Football League in 1899, won the fourth-tier title in 2011 and 2014 and the Football League Trophy in 2012. It left Saltergate, its home for more than a century, in 2010.
