UC Sampdoria

Sampdoria were created on 12 August 1946 by the merger of two Genoese clubs, Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria, whose names and colours were combined into the blue shirt with its white, red and black band. The side built around Gianluca Vialli and Roberto Mancini won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1990, the Italian championship in 1991 and reached the European Cup final in 1992. Sampdoria share the Stadio Luigi Ferraris with Genoa.
