Germany

The Germany national team is run by the Deutscher Fussball-Bund, founded in 1900, and played its first international in 1908. Between 1949 and 1990 the country was represented by separate sides for West Germany, East Germany and, briefly, the Saar Protectorate, whose records were absorbed into the present team at reunification. Germany has won four World Cups, in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014, and three European Championships, and has been World Cup runner-up four times.
