Mansfield Town

Formed in 1897 as Mansfield Wesleyans, a Methodist church side, the club became Mansfield Wesley in 1906 and Mansfield Town in 1910. Three Midland League titles in the 1920s brought election to the Football League in 1931. It won the Fourth Division in 1974-75 and the Third Division in 1976-77, taking it to the second tier for the first time, and won the Associate Members' Cup in 1986-87.
