Leyton Orient

The club was founded in 1881 by members of the Glyn Cricket Club and became Orient in 1888, a name attributed to a member employed by the Orient Steam Navigation Company; it played as Clapton Orient from 1898 and settled on Leyton Orient in 1946. In 1915 forty-one Clapton Orient players and staff enlisted together, more than from any other club, and three were killed on the Somme. Brisbane Road has been home since 1937.
