Tenerife

Club Deportivo Tenerife was founded in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1922 and plays at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez. Its best years were a ten-season run in La Liga from 1989 to 1999, twice finishing fifth and qualifying for the UEFA Cup, and famously denying Real Madrid the title on the last day in 1992 and 1993. Separated from the mainland, it contests the Canary Islands derby with Las Palmas.
