Swansea City

The club was founded in 1912 as Swansea Town and adopted its present name in 1970, after Swansea was granted city status. Under John Toshack it rose from the Fourth Division to the First in four seasons between 1978 and 1981, and after near-liquidation in 2001 was rescued by a supporters' trust. Swansea won the League Cup in 2013, the first major trophy in their history, and have taken the Welsh Cup ten times; they left the Vetch Field in 2005.
