Standard Liege

Royal Standard de Liege was founded in 1898 and has played in the Belgian top flight without interruption since 1921, longer than any other club in the country. It has won ten Belgian championships and eight cups, and reached the Cup Winners' Cup final in 1982, losing to Barcelona in Barcelona. Its players are called les Rouches after the Liege pronunciation of rouge, for the red shirts.
