Barnet was founded in Chipping Barnet in 1888 but ceased to exist in 1902; the present line runs from the 1912 merger of Barnet Avenue and Alston Works, which took the name Barnet FC in 1919. It won the FA Amateur Cup and seven Athenian League titles before turning semi-professional, and entered the Football League in 1991 under Barry Fry. Nicknamed the Bees, it left Underhill for the Hive Stadium in 2013.
