Established in 1871, Reading are among the oldest clubs in England but did not join the Football League until 1920 and first reached the top flight only in 2006. Nicknamed the Royals, and earlier the Biscuitmen after the town's Huntley and Palmers factory, they won the Full Members' Cup in 1988 and the second-tier title in 2006 and 2012. The club played at Elm Park for 102 years before moving to the Madejski Stadium in 1998.
