Valencia

Valencia CF were founded on 18 March 1919 and moved to the Mestalla, their ground ever since, in 1923. The club has won six Spanish league titles and eight Copas del Rey, took the Cup Winners' Cup in 1980 and the UEFA Cup in 2004, and lost consecutive Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001 under Hector Cuper. A replacement stadium begun in 2007 stood unfinished for years after the club's finances collapsed.
