Getafe CF

Getafe CF was founded in 1983 as the successor to Getafe Deportivo, a club dating from 1923 that had collapsed under its debts that year. Based in an industrial suburb south of Madrid, it reached La Liga for the first time in 2004 and was Copa del Rey runner-up in both 2007 and 2008, also reaching the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in 2008. It has played at the Coliseum since 1998 and maintains rivalries with Leganes and with the two big Madrid clubs.
