Novara

Novara Calcio was founded in 1908 in Piedmont and played thirteen Serie A seasons, finishing eighth in 1951-52 with Silvio Piola leading the attack, and reaching the Coppa Italia final in 1939. It returned to Serie A in 2011-12 after an absence of more than fifty years. Excluded from professional football in 2021 and declared bankrupt in 2023, its sporting tradition was taken over by Novara FC, a club created by the city, which now plays in Serie C.
