Barnsley FC

Barnsley were founded in 1887 by the Reverend Tiverton Preedy as Barnsley St Peter's, a church side, and dropped the saint's name in 1897 on joining the Football League. The club won the FA Cup in 1912, beating West Bromwich Albion in a replay after six ties without conceding a goal. Oakwell has been home since the beginning.
