Leganes

Founded in 1928 in the industrial suburb of Leganes south of Madrid, and nicknamed Los Pepineros, the cucumber growers, after the town's market gardens. It made no national impact until promotion to the Segunda Division in 1992-93, becoming a sporting corporation in 1995. It first reached La Liga in 2016 and stayed four seasons, with a second spell in 2024-25, and plays at the Estadio Butarque.
