Rovers were founded at a meeting in the St Leger Hotel in 1875, largely by former public schoolboys, and were a founder member of the Football League. The club won the FA Cup six times, five of them in a dominant spell between 1884 and 1891, and took the Premier League title in 1995 with a side assembled on the money of the local steel magnate Jack Walker. Ewood Park has been home since 1890.
