Celta Vigo

Celta were founded on 23 August 1923 by the merger of Real Vigo Sporting and Real Fortuna, and the name was chosen to evoke the Celtic heritage claimed by Galicia. The club has reached three Copa del Rey finals and, in the seasons around 2000, beat Liverpool, Juventus and Benfica in Europe with a side known as EuroCelta. Balaidos has been home since the club's formation.
