De Graafschap

Founded in 1954 in Doetinchem and named after the historic county (graafschap) of Zutphen in the Achterhoek region of Gelderland. It has played at De Vijverberg since its foundation and is the only Dutch side that has existed as an independent club continuously since professional football began in the Netherlands. Nicknamed De Superboeren, it has spent most of its history moving between the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie, with an eighth place its best top-flight finish.
