Blackpool

Blackpool were founded in 1887 at a meeting in the Stanley Arms Hotel, absorbing the earlier South Shore club in 1899. The tangerine shirts were adopted in 1923 after a director saw the Netherlands play. The club's defining day was the 1953 FA Cup final, remembered as the Matthews Final, when Blackpool came from 3-1 down to beat Bolton 4-3; Bloomfield Road has been home throughout.
