Partick Thistle

Formed in 1876 in the burgh of Partick, then administratively separate from Glasgow, with its first recorded match the following February. Despite the name the club has been based at Firhill in Maryhill since 1908, and has worn its distinctive red and yellow since 1936. Thistle beat Rangers to win the Scottish Cup in 1921 and Celtic 4-1 to win the League Cup in 1971, and have taken the second tier of Scottish football six times.
