Como

Football in Como dates from the 1907 foundation of Como Foot-Ball Club, which absorbed the Minerva student club in 1911 and Esperia in 1926 and passed through several names before becoming Como Calcio. That company went bankrupt in 2004 and its successor in 2016, and in 2017 the federation refused to award the sporting title to the new owners, so the club had to restart in the amateur divisions as Como 1907. It returned to Serie A in 2024 and qualified for European competition for the first time in 2026.
