DC United

Founded in 1994 as a charter Major League Soccer franchise and began play in the league's inaugural 1996 season. It dominated MLS's early years, winning four MLS Cups, four Supporters' Shields and three US Open Cups, and remains the only United States club to have won the Copa Interamericana, which it took in 1998 alongside the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. It left RFK Stadium in 2018 for the purpose-built Audi Field.
