Cobreloa

Cobreloa was founded on 7 January 1977 in the mining city of Calama on the initiative of local groups and the state copper company CODELCO, its name joining cobre, copper, with the river Loa. It won eight Chilean championships, most of them in the 1980s, and reached the Copa Libertadores final in 1981 and 1982, losing both to Flamengo and Penarol. It plays at the Estadio Zorros del Desierto.
