シエンシアーノ

Founded on 8 July 1901 in Cusco and named after the Colegio Nacional de Ciencias, whose pupils started it, Cienciano is the leading club of the old Inca capital. In 2003 it became the first and still only Peruvian club to win an official CONMEBOL competition, taking the Copa Sudamericana against River Plate, and added the Recopa Sudamericana against Boca Juniors in 2004. It has won three Peruvian short-season titles, contests the Cusco derby with Deportivo Garcilaso and the Clasico del Sur with Melgar of Arequipa.
