FC Koln

The club was founded on 13 February 1948 by the merger of Kolner Ballspiel-Club 01 and SpVgg Sulz 07. Koln were German champions in 1962 and, in 1964, the first winners of the newly created Bundesliga, adding a league and cup double in 1978. Known as the Billy Goats after their mascot Hennes, named for a former coach, the club plays at the Mungersdorfer Stadion.
