US Lecce

Lecce was founded on 15 March 1908 as Sporting Club Lecce and refounded on 16 September 1927. The giallorossi are the leading club of Apulia's Salento region, first reaching Serie A in 1985-86 and recording their best finish, ninth, in 1988-89, and they have won Serie B in 2010 and 2022. They play at the Stadio Via del Mare and are nicknamed i lupi, the wolves, after the wolf on the city's arms.
