San Jose Earthquakes

The San Jose Earthquakes were founded as a charter franchise of Major League Soccer and began play in 1996 as the San Jose Clash, taking part in the first match in league history. They won MLS Cup in 2001 and 2003 with Landon Donovan, then were moved to Houston in 2005 when a stadium could not be secured, the franchise records staying in San Jose. The club was revived and resumed play in 2008, moving to PayPal Park in 2015.
