Dynamo Kyiv

Dynamo Kyiv was founded in 1927 as a branch of the Soviet Dynamo sports society and became a separate business in 1989. It has never been relegated from the top division of Soviet or Ukrainian football, and under Valeriy Lobanovskyi it won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1975 and 1986 and the European Super Cup in 1975, the only Soviet club to take a European trophy. Its success against the Moscow clubs made it a matter of national pride in Ukraine; it plays at the Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv.
