شیمیزو اس-پالس

Shimizu S-Pulse was formed in 1991 as a founder member of the J.League and was unusual among them in having no corporate parent, its first squad drawn entirely from Shizuoka Prefecture, the heartland of Japanese football. It has won the Emperor's Cup and the J.League Cup but never the championship, coming closest in 1999 when it lost the title decider to Jubilo Iwata on penalties. The two contest the Shizuoka derby.
