KFC Uerdingen 05

Founded by twelve local citizens on 17 November 1905 in Uerdingen, then a town in its own right and now a district of Krefeld. It was FC Uerdingen 05 until 1953 and FC Bayer 05 Uerdingen until 1995, when the chemical company withdrew from sponsoring the football team; the football department continued as KFC Uerdingen 05 while the remaining sections became SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen, renamed SC Krefeld 05 in 2024. It won the DFB-Pokal in 1985 and the Lower Rhine Cup in 1982, 2001 and 2019, but repeated insolvencies have dropped it to the fifth-tier Oberliga Niederrhein.
