ساندرلند

Founded in 1879 by the Scottish schoolmaster James Allan as Sunderland and District Teachers' Association FC, the club opened its membership beyond teachers a year later and dropped the qualifier. Six league championships, five of them before the First World War, and FA Cups in 1937 and 1973 form the record of 'the Black Cats'. Sunderland left Roker Park for the Stadium of Light, built on the old Wearmouth Colliery, in 1997.
