CSKA Moscow

CSKA was founded in Moscow in 1911 as the sports society of the OLLS skiing club and became the official team of the Soviet Army, a status it kept until the USSR dissolved. It won seven Soviet top-flight titles, five Soviet Cups and the 1991 double, and has since added six Russian Premier League titles and eight Russian Cups. In 2005 it became the first Russian club to win a European trophy, beating Sporting CP in the UEFA Cup final in Lisbon, and it has played at the VEB Arena since 2016.
