Levante

Levante Union Deportiva traces its foundation to 6 September 1909, and took its present shape in 1939 when Levante FC merged with Gimnastico FC. Based in the working-class north of Valencia, it has spent much of its history in the shadow of its city rival, though it reached the Copa del Rey semi-finals and has had several long spells in La Liga since 2004. It plays at the Ciutat de Valencia.
