Ουιντάντ Τλεμσέν

The senior club of Tlemcen, WA Tlemcen was constituted out of Racing Club de Tlemcen, which played the first championship of independent Algeria in 1962-63 and then ceased to exist. Sources differ on the date: the French account gives 1963, while Arabic sources date the club to 1962 with a formal establishment on 23 October 1963, so both years are cited. Its finest season was 1998, when it won the Algerian Cup and the Arab Club Champions Cup; it was relegated in 2008 and came straight back up.
