Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos was founded in Athens in 1908 by Giorgos Kalafatis as Podosfairikos Omilos Athinon and is one of only three Greek clubs never relegated from the top division. It has won twenty Greek championships and twenty Greek Cups, and went through the 1963-64 season unbeaten. It is the only Greek club to have reached a European Cup final, losing to Ajax at Wembley in 1971, and it went on to play in the Intercontinental Cup that year.
